This site sets two cookies, both belonging to Google Analytics, and only if you press Accept on the notice at the bottom of the screen. Until you do, none are set. If you press Reject, none are set and you will not be asked again.
Nothing on this site is hidden behind the banner. Refusing costs you no content, no feature and no convenience. The site works identically either way.
The cookies

That is the complete list. There are no advertising cookies, no cookies belonging to any social network, and nothing that follows you to another website.
Your choice, and where it is remembered
Your answer is kept in your browser's local storage, under the namecc-consent, not in a cookie. It never leaves your device and it is not sent to us or to anyone else. It is there so the banner does not ask you the same question on every page.
Because it is stored per browser and per device, you will be asked again on your phone if you first answered on a laptop, and again if you clear your browsing data.
Changing your mind
There is a Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page. It brings the notice back so you can switch your answer at any time, in either direction.
If you go from Accept to Reject, the site deletes the two Google Analytics cookies immediately and stops sending anything further. You can also:
- Delete cookies for this site in your browser's settings.
- Install Google's ownAnalytics opt out browser add on, which blocks Google Analytics on every site you visit, not just this one.
- Turn on your browser's Do Not Track or anti tracking settings.
Things that are not cookies but are worth saying
Cloudflare Web Analytics
The site also counts page views using Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, uses no fingerprinting and stores nothing on your device, so there is nothing to consent to and it runs whether you accept or reject. It tells us which pages get read and roughly how many people visit. It cannot tell us who you are.
Maps
Pub and event pages carry a small map. The map images come from OpenStreetMap, and only after the map has scrolled into view or you have opened it. They are ordinary images and set no cookies, but OpenStreetMap does see your IP address while serving them, in the same way any website you visit does.
The contact form
The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person rather than a script is sending the message. It is designed not to follow you between websites and is not used to build a picture of you. It counts as strictly necessary, because without it the form fills with spam, so it is not covered by the banner.
Fonts
The three typefaces are served from this site, not from Google Fonts or any other font service, so reading a page tells nobody anything.
Where your analytics data goes
Google Analytics data is processed by Google, acting on our instructions. That is covered in more detail, including the transfers involved, under "Visit statistics" in thePrivacy Policy.
