Privacy Policy

Crafted Compass is a personal, non commercial website. It carries no advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsorship, and it does not build profiles of its visitors. This page describes everything the site does that involves data. It is short because the site does very little.

What we collect and why

Aggregate visit statistics

When enabled, the site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy focused service that counts page views without cookies, without fingerprinting and without storing personal information. It tells us which pages are read and roughly how many people visit. It cannot tell us who you are, and we cannot look you up in it.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, the name, email address, subject and message you type are delivered to our inbox by Web3Forms, a form delivery service. Your message is used to reply to you and for nothing else. It is not added to any mailing list, shared with anyone, or used for marketing. If you would rather avoid the form, email info@craftedcompass.co.uk directly.

The form is protected against automated spam by Cloudflare Turnstile when enabled, which performs its check without tracking you across other sites.

Maps

Pub pages include a small map. The map images are loaded from OpenStreetMap, a non profit mapping project, and only once the map comes into view on your screen. Your browser requests the map images directly from OpenStreetMap, which sees your IP address as part of serving them, exactly as it would if you visited their website. See the OpenStreetMap privacy policy for how they handle requests.

What we do not do

• No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies.
• No advertising of any kind, so no ad networks see your visit.
• No social media buttons or embedded trackers.
• No selling, sharing or trading of any information, ever.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details of each request (such as your IP address) to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse.
